CTSP of the Week: Ma. Regina M. Miciano, RSW, CTSP

A Heart That Serves. A Voice That Advocates. A Life That Heals.

This week, we proudly honor Ma. Regina M. Miciano, RSW, CTSP, a compassionate force in the field of social work and trauma support. A licensed social worker, a topnotcher in the Certified Trauma Support Practitioner Qualifying Examination (CTSP-QE), and a passionate advocate for children and families, Ms. Miciano has consistently embodied the spirit of trauma-informed care through her professional work and personal mission to uplift the vulnerable.

From her meaningful role as a Domestic Adoption Social Worker at Kaisahang Buhay Foundation, she has committed her life to helping children find safety, belonging, and permanence through loving adoptive homes. Her work involves careful eligibility assessments, client support, and case presentations that influence a child’s lifelong stability and emotional future—tasks that require immense empathy, ethical grounding, and trauma-sensitive insight.

Her background in psychosocial counseling, clinical social work, and community intervention reflects years of immersion with children, youth, and families in distress. Whether conducting individual counseling, facilitating group therapy, assisting families in crisis, or coordinating community relief efforts, she has shown an unwavering dedication to healing the unseen wounds brought by trauma and adversity.

As a CTSP, Ms. Miciano exemplifies the very values we uphold—safety, dignity, empowerment, cultural sensitivity, and compassion-in-action. She has demonstrated how trauma-informed practice is not just a skillset, but a way of serving. Her commitment to continued learning, evident in her participation in trauma-focused trainings and conferences, reinforces her belief that those who support others must continually grow, evolve, and remain grounded in best practices.

Her recognitions—including being awarded Best New Adoption Social Worker (2024) and ranking among the Top 5 CTSP examinees (2025)—only affirm what her colleagues and clients already know: that she leads with excellence, humility, and heart.

But beyond her credentials, what truly makes Ms. Miciano remarkable is her posture of service. In her volunteer work for disaster response, youth empowerment, and community initiatives, she has shown that trauma support extends beyond the clinic or case file—it is a lifelong calling to restore hope where it has been shaken.

To Ms. Miciano — your service inspires us. Thank you for reminding the trauma-support community that healing is possible when advocates are brave, compassionate, and steadfast. Your work changes stories. Your voice uplifts lives. Your heart honors the essence of being a Certified Trauma Support Practitioner.

Mabuhay ka, and may you continue to be a light to the many lives you touch.
