PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSULTATION

A psychological consultation is a form of clinical intake interview where a licensed mental health practitioner (i.e., psychometrician, psychologist) meets with an individual, group, or organization to discuss concerns related to mental, emotional, or behavioral well-being. It involves gathering relevant background information, clarifying presenting issues, providing initial insights or recommendations, and determining appropriate next steps—whether for assessment, therapy, or referral. If you need to navigate through your emotions, understand yourself better, or make a sound decision about mental health, this service is for you.

PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT

A psychological assessment is a structured process of evaluating an individual’s mental, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning using standardized tools, interviews, and observations. It aims to gather comprehensive and objective information to better understand a person’s strengths, challenges, and needs. The results are used to aid in diagnosis, guide treatment planning, support educational or workplace accommodations, and inform other important life decisions, ensuring that interventions are accurate, evidence-based, and tailored to the individual. This can be done for educational, occupational, legal, or clinical purposes.

TREATMENT & CARE PLANNING (TCP)

Treatment and care planning (TCP) is a collaborative process between Livence's mental health professionals and the client to develop a structured, personalized approach for addressing the client’s psychological needs and goals. It involves identifying priority concerns, setting measurable objectives, selecting evidence-based interventions, and outlining the frequency and duration of sessions, all based on the findings of the psychological assessment. This plan serves as a roadmap for psychotherapy, ensuring that care is goal-oriented, client-centered, and adaptable to the individual’s progress and changing needs.
PSYCHOEDUCATION SESSIONS

Psychological counseling or "talk therapy" is a professional, collaborative process in which one of Livence's psychologists or counselors help individuals explore and address personal, emotional, or psychological challenges in a supportive and confidential environment. It focuses on fostering self-awareness, developing coping strategies, improving relationships, and promoting overall well-being. Through open dialogue and evidence-based techniques, counseling empowers clients to gain insight, make positive changes, and navigate life’s difficulties more effectively.

Psychotherapy is a structured, evidence-based treatment provided by one of Livence's psychologists to address deeper or more complex psychological concerns, such as mental health disorders, trauma, or long-standing emotional difficulties. While counseling often focuses on present concerns, practical problem-solving, and personal growth, psychotherapy delves further into underlying patterns, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, often exploring past experiences and their impact on current functioning.
Livence provides specialized therapeutic approaches—such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-focused therapies—to promote lasting change, symptom relief, and improved mental well-being.

Psychoeducation is the process by which Livence's trained psychometricians and psychologists provide individuals, families, or groups with accurate, evidence-based information about mental health conditions, psychological processes, coping strategies, and available treatments. It aims to increase understanding, reduce stigma, and empower clients to actively participate in their own care. By combining education with practical skills training, psychoeducation helps individuals make informed decisions, manage symptoms more effectively, and enhance their overall well-being.
